Barber reappointed to serve as regent at CASC in Poteau

Belva Brooks Barber has been reappointed to serve as a Regent on the Carl Albert State College Board.

Barber was originally appointed to the Board by Governor Mary Fallin on Jan. 30, 2014 to fulfill the unexpired term of the late Bill J. Barber.

With that term ending July l, 2015, Barber's new appointment for a full term will begin July 2, 2015 and expire July 1, 2022.

President Garry M. Ivey stated, "We appreciate the Governor's reappointment of Regent Belva Barber, and we also extend our thanks to Senator Mark Allen for his support. Regent Barber currently serves as the Chair of the CASC Regents. She brings a wealth of knowledge to our Board and is a true leader in every sense of the word.

"I am confident that the College's future is in good hands as Regent Barber and all of our Regents work together to keep Carl Albert State College a premiere community college in the region and for that matter in the nation."

Carl Albert State College is a two-year institution located in Poteau.
