Pearl Kilman passed away Aug. 30, 2015.

Pearl was second to the last of seven children born to August and Lydia (Rempfer) Kirschenmann in Yankton County, S.D. She attended school in a one-room schoolhouse and was a graduate of Menno High School. In 1947 she married Lawrence P. Thum and enjoyed sharing the good news of God's Kingdom in various parts of the country. They raised two children, Lynn M. Thum and Lisa R. Tarrats. Traveling and the prospect of doing so was one thing that was a highlight in her life. She visited many places within five continents since 1950. When her feet were planted, playing cards was her next love.

After the death of Lawrence in 1991, Albert Kilman swept her off her feet in 1998 and whisked her away to Bodfish, Calif., to enjoy 17 wonderful years.

Pearl is survived by her siblings: Erma Herrboldt and Cliff Kirschenmann; husband Albert; children Lynn and Lisa and stepchildren Tim and Cathy. She cherished her grandchildren: Jeremy, Jennifer, Lawrence, Brianna, Dionne, Nicole, Michelle and Lauren; stepgrandson Kory; and 10 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015, at 1 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, fell Edith Avenue, Lake Isabella, CA 93240.

They ask that no flowers be sent. Donations may be made to Watchtower, 25 Columbia Heights, Brooklyn, NY 11201-2483.
