IN LOVING MEMORY OF LINDA DINNETTE THOMPSON

Linda Dinnette (Kannegieter) Thompson was born at Port Huenemy, CA, on July 9, 1953, to Robert & Marlene (Hayenga) Kannegieter. Linda graduated from George High School in 1971. She went on to USD in Vermillion, SD, and graduated in 1975 with a double major in Elementary Education and Special Education. On May 25, 1974, Linda was united in marriage to Bob Thompson. Linda & Bob were blessed with a son, Michael and a daughter, Kimberly.

Linda was very involved with 4-H, loved riding horse, and sewing. She attended and became a member of Ebenezer Presbyterian Church. Linda spent many hours crocheting baby blankets and doilies.

After graduating from college, Linda taught Kindergarten and Special Ed. in George. She also enjoyed working with the cheerleaders. She and Bob then moved to Colorado where she worked as a substitute teacher before moving on to teach at Ponderosa High School. Before becoming ill she taught at

Douglas County Middle School Linda loved children and teaching. While teaching, Linda worked hard and got a master's degree in Special Education.

Linda faithfully attended Parker Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Parker, CO, where she was a Stephen's Minister.

Linda battled dementia for 10 years and on October 17, 2015, she won the battle and joined her Savior, Jesus Christ, in Heaven.

She is survived by her husband, Bob, of 41 years, son, Michael, daughter, Kimberly (James) Collins, granddaughter, Kaylee Collins, her mother, Marlene Kannegieter, sister, Ronda (Buzz) VanBriesen, brother, Rob (friend Susan) Kannegieter, along with several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Bob Kannegieter, her father-in-law and mother-in-law-Bob & Norine Thompson, and a brother-in-law — Keith Thompson.

A memorial service was held at Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in George, IA, on Oct. 22, 2015.
