Edmond Franklin Shortt

Edmond Franklin Shortt of Whitesburg, Ky. passed away October 23, 2015 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Ed was 81 years of age. He was born February 24, 1934 at Flat Gap, Virginia. Surviving him are his wife, Lois of 60 years Two sons, Timothy Edmond Shortt and Anthony (Tony) Oliver Shortt of Whitesburg, Kentucky. Preceding him in death, (June 3, 2007) a daughter, Tina Shortt. His parents, Grace and Roy Shortt of Flat Gap, Virginia Brother, Chester Shortt of Mt, Washington, Ky A grandson, Oliver Franklin Shortt, a U.S. Army soldier in Bamberg, Germany, son of Tony Shortt and Debra Gibson. Grandaughter Terri Deloris Shortt, daughter of Tim Shortt and Debbie Niece.

Also surviving him are two sisters, Flaudine Adams, of Columbia, South Carolina and Sara Jones (Marvin) of Augusta, Georgia. Two brothers, Jimmy (Betty) of Taylorsville, Kentucky and Ronnie Shortt (Deanna) of Flat Gap Virgina Sister in law Doris Shortt of Mt. Washington, Kentucky, wife of the late Chester Shortt Grandson Roy Anthony Shortt, son of Tony and Debra Gibson. Grandaughter Tracy Ison Burke, daughter of Tim and Debbie Niece Great grandchildren, Koree, Tami, Davison, Donnie, Courtney, and Kasie. Great Great Grandchildren: Gunner Kreed, Kinslee Page, Donnie 2nd, Kinsey, and Kayden. All of his nieces and nephews, which he loved dearly A host of friends, he was a four year Navy veteran, he was a member of the American Legion Post 152 for 46 years, also a VFW member at Pound, Virginia post 9600. A past member of Masonic Lodge II 754 in Whitesburg, also Shriners, and among other charitable organizations.. Letcher Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
