A coach without a prayer?

Frankly, I'm concerned about our nation. Christianity is being marginalized and being politically correct has gone to seed. For example, last week in the state of Washington, Joe Kennedy, Bremerton High School's assistant football coach, was placed on paid administrative leave for refusing to follow orders from the school district to avoid any religious displays on the field. In other words, stop praying! I thought it was interesting that he was placed on leave after a group of black robed Satanists (witches) planned to attend art upcoming game to protest Kennedy's habit of praying before and after games. Around this same time last year, a school district in South Dakota decided that students did not have time to say the Pledge of Allegiance at the beginning of the school day. Good grief! How long does that take? 30 seconds? Apparently there's no time for patriotism, and let's not pray, because God forbid we might offend someone! But what if I'm offended, that you are offended, that you find prayer offensive?

Now, that's a mouthful of offense! But, I refuse to be a part of the silent majority who believe in the Godly principles, truths and timeless values that once made this the greatest nation in history.

I WILL not take the time to recount all the ways I see America changing (and not for the better), but I do want to briefly examine the root cause. Proverbs 29: 2 says, "When the godly are in authority, the people rejoice. But when the wicked are in power, they (the people) groan." Could God be any clearer? How many of you are groaning and are appalled at the way America is being transformed into a godless, secular nation. Yes, there are still plenty of Christians in this nation, but we need to become more vocal and make our voices loud and clear.

IS IT it too late for this nation to get back on the right course? I don't think so, but I'm disgusted with inept leadership. Plus, what have we learned from history, if anything? Time and time again, God has warned us that if we forsake His principles and insist on having our own way we will judged. God will not be mocked! When we get puffed up with pride, practice immorality, kill the unborn and kick God out of our schools, homes and government we will suffer the consequences of our sins. Last week, one of our community and business leaders said to me, "I don't think God is going to put up with this much longer!"

THIS NATION is in a mess and the answers will not come from the White House, but the church house! 1 Chron. 7:14 says, "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and heal their land." Don't take for granted that someone else is praying for our wayward nation. The responsibility to pray rests squarely upon the shoulders of every God-fearing American. If we don't pray and get actively involved in reclaiming this nation, we will live to regret it!
