Off-Duty Greenville Officer In Fight With Woman; Both Charged

Two women from Greenville, including an off-duty police officer, have been arrested by the Meriwether County Sheriff's Office for fighting.

According to reports filed at the Meriwether County Sheriff's Office, a deputy was dispatched to Terrell Street in Greenville on Thursday, Sept. 3 around 8:30 p.m. to assist the Greenville Police Department with "a fight involving an off-duty police officer."

There were no clear details about the incident stated in the report and what led up to the incident.

However, the incident ended with Tonya Michelle Keith (off — duty police officer for City of Greenville) of Hogansville and Rhonda Lynette Caldwell both being arrested and charged with fighting and disorderly conduct.

The Meriwether Vindicator attempted to contact the city to find out if the police officer was still on duty or if any disciplinary actions had been taken, but the newspaper's attempts failed.
