Wieman Land & Auction has moved their downtown business office to the machinery lot located on hwy 44, 1 mile south and 1/2 west of Marion.

It is an attractive addition to their country location. They now have more office space with room to grow. Rich Wieman said they have talked about building for a few years and said, "we're happy to have everything in one location. We now can be reached much easier and do not have to duplicate phone and computer hardware."

The family owned business is a huge business asset to Marion. Wieman Land & Auction Co. Inc. is a third generation family company that was started by Earl Wieman in 1949. Earl has two sons, Gary and Rich. Gary's two sons, Kevin and Mike, and Rich's sons, Ryan & Derek, also help with the business.

They employ about 12 full time and many more when they hold consignment auctions. They have about six shop guys and two truck drivers helping with the business.

Wiemans hold about 100 sales a year, with four large consignments or more a year. The last consignment for this year will be held December 9.

Their former office in downtown Marion has been purchased by Luke Heating Cooling & Plumbing.
