Curtis Kern of Platteville passed away at the age of 62 on Oct. 22, 2015, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born in Greeley on June 7, 1953, to Imogene and William F. Kern Jr. Curtis enjoyed farming and farmed on the family farm with his father and grandfather until the early 1990s. He attended schools in Weld County and graduated from Valley High School in 1973. Curtis had a passion for cars and loved working in the yard and spending time with friends and family. Many people knew him but few understood him! He will be greatly missed by all he knew. Curtis is survived by his daughter Carisa Foster of Platteville; grandchildren, Peighton, Raelee and Saige; sisters, Sheila Patterson of Loveland and Sonya Johnson of Texas; nieces, Nicole Lawrence of Fort Collins, Amber Sirio of Evans and Jessica and Cassie Johnson of Texas; five great-nephews; one great-niece; and numerous friends who were family to him as well.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Imogene and William F. Kern Jr.; grandparents, Melvina and William F. Kern; and brother-in-law, Larry Johnson.

A memorial service will be held in Curtis's honor at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Nov. 9, 2015, at the Allnutt Macy Chapel Private family inurnment at Mizpah Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Carisa Foster (charity yet to be determined) in care of Allnutt Funeral Service, Greeley.
