Another holiday season of $1,000 prizes, zero percent interest loans and activities for the entire family.

This year, the Rolla Chamber of Commerce is giving away $7, 000 in Customer Appreciation Money. There will be seven drawings for $ 1, 000 each beginning on Saturday December 5.

Everyone who makes a purchase at a participating store will receive a ? ticket with a number.

All the numbers go into a large bin at Theel Motors in Rolla, where each drawing will be held. Only two numbers will be drawn and if no one claims the prize, the $1, 000 prize will roll over to the next drawing.

A complete schedule of the drawings is as follows: $1000 at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Saturday, December 5.

$1000 at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Saturday, December 12.

$1000 at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 16.

$1000 at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Saturday, December 19.

Winners must be in a participating business when the number is drawn in order to claim the prize.

Ticket numbers will be broadcast over the radio in the participating businesses. Winners should approach an employee at the participating business with the ticket to verify the number.

This will mark the 22nd year of the city's Customer Appreciation Drawings. During that time, the Rolla Chamber has given more than $100,000 back to people who have shopped at and supported the city's businesses.

Another long-standing tradition will return this holiday season as Starion Financial and Dacotah Bank will offer Holiday Cash loans.

Qualified applicants can borrow up to $1,200 and take up to nine months to pay it back with no interest.

The Holiday Cash can be spent at a host of participating merchants in Rolla throughout the holiday season and up until December 31, 2015.

The loan applications will be available beginning November 16 through December 18.

The Rolla Chamber is also planning a day full of holiday-themed events. Santa Claus will be coming to town on Saturday, December 12. The jolly old elf will be at City Hall from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. meeting with children and handing out treats.

After visiting with Santa, children and their families are invited to take an old-fashioned sleigh ride around the city. The rides will start near the Rolla City Hall at 1 p.m. and go until 3 p.m.

Also on Saturday, December 12, starting around 6 p.m., the city will hold its annual Parade of Lights. Everyone is welcome to participate and prizes will be awarded to the top three entries.

"The holiday season is a special time and we offer the cash drawings and other promotions as a way to not only keep people in town, but also to make Christmas time even more special," said Josh Munro, chamber board member and co-owner of Theel Motors in Rolla. "It's a lot of work to put it all together, but we feel it's a fun and exciting way to show our appreciation for the folks who support us year round."
