Linnie Griff is Beckham

Mrs. Linnie Griffis Beckham, 88, passed away Monday, October 26, 2015, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family, following an extended illness.

Mrs. Beckham was born September 18, 1927, in Homerville, to the late Horace Griffis and Noley Pittman Griffis. She was a homemaker and a member of the Place of Blessings Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Beckham; two sisters, Carolyn O'Berry and Betty Jean James and two brothers, Clinton Griffis and Shelton Griffis.

Survivors are three daughters and son-in-law: Lenell Johnston of Douglas, Sharon Keith, and Doris and Ray Day all of Homerville; two sons and daughters-in-law, David "Buddy" and Diane James of Homerville and Alvin and Janice James of Fargo; two sisters, Daphine Reeves of Hpmerville and Ava Nell Ott of South Carolina; 17 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral services for Mrs. Beckham were held Thursday, October 29, 2015, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Roundtree Funeral Home.

Officiating was the Rev. Samuel David Inman.

Interment was in the Ram ah Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Chuck Balance, Tony Spradley, Gene Lamie, Leonard Corbitt, Dave Inman and Jimmy Chauncey.

Carmen Inman sang, "I Sure Miss You".
