Ted C. Dabovich, 87, passed away on Oct. 23, 2015 in Glendale, Ariz, surrounded by loved ones.

He was born in Yuma, Ariz, on Dec. 5, 1927 to Chris V. Dabovich and Estella Castro Dabovich.

Ted lived in the Bisbee, Douglas, Willcox and San Simon area for most of his life, graduating Bisbee High School and attending Cochise College in Douglas, Ariz. He worked in various places, such as the Phelps Dodge mine in Bisbee, Ariz, and as a fire fighter for the Douglas Fire Department for a short time, but he made his career path as a Douglas Police Officer for 23 years, serving as a Detective and Narcotics agent and ending his career as a Deputy Sheriff for the Cochise County Sheriff's Department for 13 years. He also served in the National Guard for 12 years. He was affiliated with the Lion's Club, FOP and Elks Lodge.

Ted always had a story to tell about his many adventures while working at his various law enforcement jobs, some almost too outrageous to believe. His stories always started out with "guy, I remember this one time". He had a smile and a joke to tell most of the time and knew just about everyone. There wasn't a place or state he could go that he had not made a friend or someone would be yelling out, "Is that you Ted?"

Ted is preceded in death by his mother Estella Castro Dabovich, father Chris V. Dabovich, brothers Robert C. Dabovich (Bobby), Frank Dabovich and John Dabovich and sister Florence Wallace.

Ted is survived by his wife Delrena L. Dabovich brother Chris Dabovich (Christina), sister Christine LaChance, sons Tim Dabovich (Sylvia), Tom Dabovich (Susan), Brian Dabovich (Analicia), daughters Jodie Wood (Sam), Sylvia Olmos (Albert), Vicki Cobb (Brandon) and Diana Macias (Rey), 14 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation and services were held on Monday, Nov. 2, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at West Resthaven Park Funeral Home, 6450 W. Northern Avenue, Glendale AZ 85301.
