School board to meet this week

The governing board of the Ajo Unified School District will meet in a study session this Tuesday and in regular session this Wednesday. Both meetings will start at 5:30 p.m. in the conference' room next to the superintendent's office on the school campus.

At the November 3 study session, they will discuss the agenda items for the regular session. There will also be a presentation about the senior trip, a review of Arizona Board of Education's action on Common Core standards, and a review of the Cave Creek school district's lawsuit against Governor Ducey over school funding.

At the November 4 regular session, the board will consider declaring a teaching position vacant, hiring substitute teachers and aides, advisors, a sponsor, a coach, and tutors. Also on the agenda will be a recommendation to reverse the increase in prices for student
