A Basin resident has approached the Basin Town Council about the possibility of a community center.

Lori Kibbey said she has been researching and planning the possibility of building a community center in Basin for about two years and would like to know where an ideal location would be as well as the planning and zoning requirements.

"We have a great community, but have nothing year-round," said Kibbey, who envisions a facility that would include a swimming pool, track, workout area, basketball court and kitchen and bring jobs to town.

The council encouraged Kibbey regarding her plans and expressed support for what she's trying to do. Town Clerk Danielle Chapman said she would work with Kibbey on getting her information on planning as well as giving her contacts.
