Peggy Jean Hooper Johnson

Funeral services were held on Sunday, November 1, 2015 in the McEwen chapel of Luff-Bowen Funeral Home for Peggy Jean Hooper Johnson of Kingston Springs.

Mrs. Johnson, age 79, passed away October 29.

Rev. David Deavers officiated the service with interment in Oak Grove Cemetery. Luff-Bowen Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Johnson was born August 2, 1936 in McEwen. She was a retired account specialist for the State of Tennessee Governor's Office. She was also a member of Belmont Heights Baptist Church.

Mrs. Johnson was the daughter of the late Woodrow "Buster" Hooper and Beulah Faye Cable Hooper. She was married to the late James Ray Johnson.

Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents and husband, were two grandsons, Jerry Wayne Curtis and Tony Ray Curtis; one brother, Jeff Hooper; and one sister, Betty Sue Ferrell.

Survivors include three children, Maxine Dover (Randy) of Scottsboro, Ala., Vickey Trotter (James) of Kingston Springs and Michael Johnson (Leo Manske) of Cape Cod, Mass.; seven brothers, Charles Hooper (Shirley) of Tennessee Ridge, Paul Hooper, Douglas Hooper, Herman Hooper, David Hooper, Roy Hooper and Anthony Hooper (Sandy) all of McEwen; two grandchildren, Jamie Michelle Knight and Samantha Curtis; and two great grandchildren, Christopher Curtis and Landon Curtis.
