The Iowa State Medical Examiner's office has ruled the Sept. 6 death of Jason Neuman a suicide.

The body of the 35-year-old Dorchester man was discovered the morning of Sunday, Sept. 6, by people using the trail that runs along the Upper Iowa River under the 5th-Street Bridge — the bridge located off Ice Cave Road.

"The pathologic diagnoses' found multiple blunt force injuries presumably sustained in a fall from the bridge," the Decorah Police Department reported in a news release issued Monday morning.

The Decorah Police Department and the Winneshiek County Ambulance Service were dispatched to the area below the bridge at about 9:40 a.m. Neuman was deceased upon arrival of officers and ambulance service personnel.

The Police Department was assisted by the Decorah Fire Department, Winneshiek County Ambulance Service and Winneshiek County paramedics.
