School Matinee Performance:

Luther College's School Matinee Performance series presents the Griffin Theatre Company's '"Letters Home" at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 13, in the Center for Faith and Life Main Hall on the Luther campus.

The performance, recommended for students in grades 6-12, brings to life actual letters written by soldiers serving in the Middle East and their families.

The bravery, compassion, community and patriotism of their words gives audiences a powerful portrait of soldiers' experiences in the ongoing conflicts. A sense of humanity emerges through the words of servicemen and women, even as war surrounds them.

The matinee performance is modified for school-age audiences.

Area schools have seating priority for school matinees; local youth are welcome as space is available. The matinee performance is approximately one hour in length and will be followed by a post-play discussion with the cast.

Thanks to generous support from donors and sponsors, tickets are just $2 per student and can be purchased by phone at 563-387-1357, by emailing or by visiting the Ticket Office in the Center for Faith and Life on the Luther campus. Ticket Office hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 9 a.m.-10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.-3 p.m.; Tuesday 9 a.m.-3 p.m.; with extended hours on Thursdays, 9 a.m.-7 p.m.

Tickets are available to area youth starting Friday, Nov. 6.
