Five arrested on various charges

Five separate arrests on various charges were made January 30 by the Lewis County Sheriff's Office.

Included in the arrests are: Charles S. Casebier, 52, rural Monticello, on one count of manufacture of a controlled substance (methamphetamines) a class B felony.

This arrest was the result of an investigation by the Sheriff's Office, Northeast Missouri Drug Task Force, and the West Central Illinois Drug Task Force.

Casebier is in the Lewis County Jail in lieu of a $75,000 cash only bond.

Eric C. Sparks, 37, Ewing, was arrested on two counts of receiving stolen property. It is alleged Sparks was illegally in possession of a stolen deer blind and a Moultrie wild game camera, the latter alleged taken from a wooded area north of Monticello.

The investigation in this case began in December, 2008.

Sparks is currently in the Lewis County Jail in lieu of a $2,500 cash only bond.

Joshua P. Hudson, 22, LaBelle, was arrested on a class A misdemeanor of first degree peace disturbance. The arrest was a result of a Sheriff's Office investigation at Almost Bar and Grill near LaBelle on New Year's Eve.

Hudson allegedly disturbed the peace by fighting. He was released after posting bond January 30.

Paul A. Betz, 29, Ewing was arrested for a probation violation for apparently failing to abide by directions of the court. He is in the Lewis County Jail.

Ralph L. Clay, 65, Lewistown, was arrested for a probation violation for failure to abide by the directions of the court. He was released after posting bond.
