State police report for the Quoddy area

The report for State Police Troop J includes the following incidents from eastern Washington County.

On October 5 Trooper Kim Sawyer arrested Daniel Bernaiche, 42, formerly of Baring, in Calais for an outstanding warrant.

On October 7 Sergeant Jeffrey Ingemi assisted Machias Police Department with a burglary-in-progress complaint in Machias.

On October 8 Trooper Andrew Foss responded to a theft complaint in Pembroke, where parts of an electric meter were stolen from Bangor Hydro. There are no suspects at this time, and the investigation continues.

On October 10 Trooper Jacob Ferland was on a traffic stop in Columbia. As Trooper Ferland was reentering his cruiser, a truck passed by without moving over or slowing down, coming within arm's length. The operator was stopped and found to be Alexis Barbee Bamford, 19, who was operating on a learner's permit and did not have a licensed passenger. Barbee Bamford was summonsed for violation of a learner's permit and the improper passing of a stationary emergency vehicle using lights. She was allowed to continue operating once a licensed driver arrived.

On October 12 Trooper Chad Lindsey summonsed Isaac Cilley, 37, in Princeton for operating after suspension.

On October 15 Trooper Kim Sawyer arrested Tanya Brown, 38, of Princeton for an outstanding warrant.

On October 16 Trooper Staci Carpenter responded to a criminal mischief complaint in Pembroke where a fence had been knocked over at a motel located at the intersection of Route 1 and the Little Falls Road in Pembroke. Investigation continues.

On October 17 Trooper Jeffrey Taylor summonsed Marcus Smith, 21, of Beals for operating after suspension as result of a traffic stop for a registration violation.

Trooper Jeffrey Taylor and Sgt. Jason Sattler were on a traffic stop on Beals Island when a vehicle sped past and failed to stop at a stop sign. Trooper Taylor finished the stop and found the vehicle had crashed into a telephone pole on Bay view Drive. The operator, Larry Emerson, 18, of Beals, was arrested for driving to endanger and summonsed for possession of marijuana, failing to stop at a stop sign and operating left of center.

Trooper Chris Smith arrested Joseph Meserve, 40, of Jonesport for operating after habitual offender revocation as the result of a traffic stop in Jonesport.

Trooper Kim Sawyer arrested Dawn Hewes, 41, of Topsfield for an outstanding warrant in the parking lot of the Princeton Irving.
