Angelita Arroyos

The Superior Sun of Superior, Arizona

Angelita Arroyos was born on Nov. 5, 1937 in Bisbee, Arizona to Ramon and Jane Arguellez. She passed away Oct. 29, 2015 at the age of 77.

She is survived by her husband, Esmiel Arroyos; her brother, Ray Arguellez; seven children, 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and Sister Frances Sanchez.

When she was a young, girl the family relocated to Superior, Arizona. It w;as here she built her life full of lifelong friendships. She graduated from Superior High School in 1957. After being asked twice by Esmiel Arroyos to go on a date she finally agreed the third time after he showed up in his blue shirt, blue car and blue eyes. They married in 1957 and just celebrated their 58th anniversary on Oct. 26.

She held many jobs at Sprouse Reitz and local department stores, however the majority of her time was spent raising her family of seven, Cindy Arroyos, Gabriel (Bertha Montano) Arroyos, Irene Carrillo, Carol (Frank) Granillo, Rosemary (Argel) Quiroz, Eddie (Jessie) Arroyos and Ercell (William) Sanchez. Her children loving remember her in many ways including: in the kitchen welcoming them and all their friends' home, going out dancing, crocheting, sewing their dresses and sitting around the table for dinner. Angelita enjoyed and cherished all 13 of her grandchildren. They remember spending the night with her, lots of kisses, cruising around town and seeing her at all of their events. She was able to and enjoyed attending everything each of them participated in. Beginning with T-Ball games to High School championships, from preschool to college graduations, every Christmas musical and Halloween parade. She watched them grow, marry and begin to build their families. She adored her 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter. She was able to love them, celebrate with them and watch their youth and energy. Angelita truly loved people, she had a wealth of wonderful qualities, and she will be remembered most for her open arms, gentle nature and kindness. It did not matter who you were, what you did or how long she hadn't seen you she opened her arms and gave you a kiss never judging or questioning. Angelita Arroyos enjoyed a full life overflowed with a house full of people and love. She will be laid to rest on Nov. 2, 2015. Services will be held at St. Francis Catholic Church in Superior, Arizona. Viewing at 9:30 a.m., Rosary at 9:30 a.m. and Mass at 10 a.m. Arrangements made by Superior Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers please make donations to St. Francis Catholic Church.
