Billy Volden was hospitalized on Wednesday, September 23rd in Liberal, KS. He was in respiratory failure and the hospital suspected he had a heart attack. He was transferred to Wichita, KS, where they did a heart cath, but did not find any blockage.

On Friday, September 25th, his kidneys shut down and he was placed on dialysis. He became very weak and confused. On Saturday, September 26th, the doctors encouraged all of the family to get there to sec him because there was a chance he would not pull through.

On Sunday, September 27th, Billy was placed on a ventilator to help him breath. The ventilator helped keep his body from working so hard to breath. His heart rate and blood pressure stabilized and his kidneys began to work again.

On Monday, the family was informed that he had severe heart failure on the right side of his heart, which caused his organs to begin to shut down. The doctor told the family that it would take a miracle to pull htm through. Through the thoughts and prayers of their family and friends, Billy did pull through.

The family was told that Billy will have to make some major changes in his life. He will need to lose some weight, will need therapy, and will be on oxygen and a CPAP for the rest of his life.

Billy did make a miraculous recovery and by October 4th, he was able to sit in a wheelchair, walk with a walker, was off oxygen during the day, was given an "all clear" on his kidneys, and was moved to his own room.

Billy was able to ruturn home a week later.

Billy is the son of Edith and Wardell Volden. He has had numerous health issues throughout his life, but he is one of the nicest, most Christian men you will ever meet. He is always there with a kind and encouraging word to his friends and those he meets.

The hospital stay and travel put a fii ancial strain on the Volden family. Donations have been, and still may be made at First National Bank (please specify Edith and Billy Volden).

On Saturday, October 17, 2015, several friends and neighbors gathered at the Volden home to reroof their home.

The family would like to thank everyone for the care, thoughts, prayers, food, donations, etc.
