Louis D. Bushaw, age 79 of Sauk Centre, died Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013, at the CentraCare Health Nursing Home in Sauk Centre.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. Friday.Nov. 15, atSt. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose with Rev. Marvin Enneking officiating and Rev. Ken Thielman concelebrating. Interment was in the parish cemetery. Military honors by the Melrose Veterans Honor Guard.

Louis Daniel Bushaw was born May 9, 1934, in Fargo, N.D., to Israel and Amelia (Novotny) Bushaw. After graduating high school, Louis served 12 years in the United States Air Force. He then went on to work for Federal Cartridge in Anoka for many years. He married the love of his life Florence Zinniel on Feb. 7, 1981, at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Anoka.

He was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. Louis enjoyed fishing and going to the casino. He loved to get in the car and go with his wife traveling and sightseeing to many places.

Survivors include his sons, Danny of Fargo, N.D., and Gary (Annette) of Minot, N.D.; two grandchildren, Erik and Bethany; and sister, Rose Shores of Evansville.

Louis was preceded in death by his wife, Florence, on July 16, 2013; and his parents.

Casket bearers were Roger VanHavermaet, Andrew VanHavermaet, Jessica VanHavermaet and Crystal VanHavermaet. Cross bearers were Wyatt VanHavermaet and Brenda VanHavermaet. Arrangements were made with Patton-Schad Funeral & Cremation Services of Melrose
