Meet the new medical staff at Nov. 8 open house

The public will have a chance to meet Dr. Shakil Hafiz and other new members of the Freeman Regional Health Services and Rural Medical Clinics medical staff at an open house Sunday, Nov. 8.

The meet-and-greet will be held in the hospital conference room from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

In addition to Haflz who began his work here Oct. 12 the public will be introduced to certified nurse practicioner Sarah Fodness and the hospital's new director of nursing, Courtney Unruh.

Fodness began at the Bridgewater Clinic Oct. 1. She obtained her BS in nursing from SDSU and her masters in family practice from Walden University in Minneapolis, Minn. Sarah and her husband. Matt, are living in Freeman.

Unruh recently started her work as director of nursing at Freeman Medical Center. She received her BS in nursing from SDSU, and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a master of science in nursing as an adult gerontology clinical nurse specialist. Courtney and her husband Patrick and son Maxum have moved back to Freeman, her home community, from St. Paul. Minn.
