An Altha woman was charged in a hit and run after she met a 1984 Honda ATV on the road, turned around, followed it, rammed it with the front of her car and then left the scene, according to the report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

Loretta Goodwin, 41, was driving a 2005 Pontiac Vice southbound on CR 69A around 8:20 p.m. Oct. 28 when a northbound ATV, operated by Kevin Hansford, 32, went past her.

Goodwin then turned around and headed north on CR 69A toward the ATV. She went across the southbound lane and onto the westbound shoulder, where the front of her car collided with the front of the ATV near Dusty Lane.

She then fled the scene, leaving behind Hansford, who was not injured but was unable to drive the damaged vehicle.

Damages were estimated at $500 to each vehicle. She was charged with careless driving and leaving the scene of a crash without rendering aid.

The incident was investigated by FHP Trooper Lucas M. Tavares.
