A 62-year-old Blountstown man who refused to leave his mother's home after causing a disturbance was tased twice after he resisted efforts to be handcuffed.

Police officers went to the residence on Halloween night after Gregory Sweet called 911 and said his mother had a gun.

Officers arrived to find his mother sitting by the front door. She said there was no weapon and stated that her son had showed up earlier that evening and began to cause problems.

Sweet was sitting on the couch, making foul comments to his mother. Officers noted that he smelled strongly of alcohol and appeared intoxicated.

Despite being told he would be arrested if he did not get up and leave, Sweet stayed out. When an officer took his arm, Sweet pulled avay and clinched his fist.

He refused to comply when told to put his hands behind his back. After he was put face down on the couch to be handcuffed, he began pulling away.

Officers tased him twice in the back before he was subdued After he was checked by paramedics, Sweet was taken to the county jail where he was charged with resisting without violence.
