The Cascade Quartet of Great Falls and the Malta High School Concert Choir will join forces for joint concert Thursday, Feb. 5, at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium.

The Quartet, an arm of the Great Falls Symphony, was to have performed by themselves Tuesday night as part of the Northeast Arts Network 2008-09 Big Sky concert series.

The series is sponsored locally by the Little Rockies Arts Association.

Instead, quartet members rehearsed with members of the high school choir on Tuesday as part of their outreach program and the joint concert will be held Thursday night, according to Dee Shettel, a Little Rockies Arts Association officer.

Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and $7 for students.

The residency of a professional string quartet celebrates its 30th anniversary season this year.

Although the faces in the quartet have changed throughout the years, the mission to enhance educational opportunities and provide quality performances of classical chamber music throughout Montana has remained constant.

Members of the Cascade Quartet serve as principals in the Great Falls Symphony Orchestra, teach privately, serve as adjunct players with several other orchestras in Montana, perform four double concerts on the Great Falls Symphony Chamber Music Series, and give educational school programs.
