Six AW students were selected to perform at the Iowa Girls' State Basketball Tournament in the All-State Dance Team through an audition process. Over 575 students auditioned for the 236 spots that were chosen.

Tasha Johnson and Marissa Harvey performed in the pom routine, while Jordan heeren, Lauren Heeren, Hillary Morse, and Morrica Harvey all performed in the kick routine.

The girls reported to the Des Moines Convention Center on Thursday at four and spent five hours rehearsing that evening. Between Friday and Saturday, they spent another 14 hours in rehearsal preparing for the performance that was during the halftime of the 3A game.

While in Des Moines, the girls were able to watch some finals' basketball, meet other dancers from around the state, and have the memorable opportunity of performing in front of thousands of people.
