Blake promoted to FNB CEO

Richard A. Waller, Chairman, President and CEO of Security National Corporation announced the promotion of Connie Blake to President of First National Bank of Akron. The announcement was made at the regularly scheduled Board of Directors meeting held Sept. 8.

Blake began her career with First National Bank of Akron in 1973 as a Bookkeeper/Teller prior to graduating from Akron Community School. Over the years, she has served in multiple capacities including ag, mortgage and retail lending, as well as supervision of the operations staff. She was promoted to Assistant Cashier by Lyle Jacobs in 1979 and to Cashier in 1982. In November of 1986, she was appointed First National Bank's Board Secretary.

In June of 1990, she was named Vice President of the Bank. As Vice President, she was responsible for lending, bank operations and supervision of the operations and CSR staff.

In addition to her banking responsibilities, she became a licensed real estate salesperson in Iowa and South Dakota in May of 2000. She earned her broker associate license in May of 2003. Connie will continue her Real Estate Sales with Northwest Realty.

Blake was named one of Iowa's Outstanding Women in Banking by the Northwest Financial Review in November of 2000. She has conducted numerous seminars for farm women on record keeping, financial statement analysis and cash flow preparation through the Plymouth County Extension Office's "Annie's Project".

Blake currently serves as Treasurer of the Akron Area Chamber of Commerce, Director of St. Patrick's Church Council, Treasurer and Board Member of the Akron Health Club, and is on the Akron-Westfield Educational Program Committee.

Connie continues working towards her Bachelors Degree in Business Finance from Wayne State College Extended Campus Classes.

Connie and Orin were married in Akron in May, 1973. Orin works for Guardian Building Products in Sioux City. They have two son's, Eric, who lives in Akron; Chris and his wife Kristin who also live in Akron along with their three children, Leighton, Riley Marie and CJ.

Connie enjoys spending time with her family, friends and her grand children, boating, swimming, traveling and walking.
