A neighbor reported he and his young grandchildren, who are two and four, saw Joey Event Hood, 34, shoot at a dog standing between him and them.

While Deputy Richard Mayo was talking with the neighbor, Hood and his girlfriend walked up and everyone) began yelling/cursing and making threats.

The neighbors were separated and the depury spoke with Hood, who admitted he had discharged his gun.

He denied shooting towards the man and his grandchildren but said he fired at the animal because it had chased his cat up a tree.
