Speed Limit On The Port Saint Nick Road Is Increasing

The City of Craig will increase the speed limit on the Port Saint Nick Road, Thursday, November 1, 2012. This increase will not affect the current 15 mph Zone thru Shaan-Seet Trailer Court. Where the current 25 mph speed limit is now posted, the limit will increase to 35 mph. Drivers should note Section 13 AAC 02.275 (b) of the Alaska Administrative Code, adopted into Craig City Municipal Code at Section 10.06.010, governing traffic fines, will be enforced. Motorists caught exceeding the posted speed limit will be cited. The fines range between $8.00 dollars per mile over the posted limit, up to $12.00 dollars per mile over, and between 2 and 6 points off your driver's license. Motorists are reminded to follow traffic laws, and drive safely.
