Cambridge High School Principal Notes

We have had many sick kids this fall. In talking with colleagues from other schools, they are experiencing the same. Last week we were notified of our first confirmed case of the swine flu. Please keep an eye on your child for the following symptoms: fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose and body aches. If your child has any of these symptoms, please keep him or her at home and consult a physician.

Congratulations to the Titan JV volleyball team for winning the conference championship on Saturday!! These young women showed great perseverance in winning the title. After losing to Garden Valley in the semi-final match, they had to win three consecutive matches. They made life more exciting by losing the first game of the final match. However, they kept at it and were able to win the final match in three.

GREAT JOB LADIES!!

There are a couple of corrections or changes to make in the football schedule. This week's game with Notus will begin at 7:30 rather than 7:00 as was. printed on our schedule. Also, we learned last week that the football game with Idaho City will be in Cambridge rather than in Idaho City. Last week, I mentioned that our last home football game would be October 23 against Horseshoe Bend. With Idaho City coming to our place now, our last home game will be October 30 against Idaho City. As a reminder, our home football games begin at 5:30 during the month of October.

The volleyball district tournament begins on Saturday in Emmett. Tri-Valley will go into the tournament as the number one team from the north and is scheduled to play Notus at 2:00. At the time of this writing, it was yet to be determined when Council would be playing.

On a side note, those of you who read the Adams County Record may have seen a letter to the editor I submitted regarding a subtitle that had been added to my article last week. I submitted the letter via e- mail. Approximately five minutes after hitting the send button, I received a telephone call from Cody Cahill apologizing for his oversight in realizing the ramifications of the addition. I appreciate Cody's quick response and professionalism. He showed great integrity as a journalist in making a personal phone call to try to remedy the problem.
