Elizabeth Elaine Guy Levy

Funeral services for Elizabeth Elaine Guy Levy were held at 10 am August 11, 2010 at Trinity United Methodist Church in

Ruston Officiating at the service was Rev. Jerry Hilbun and Rev. Brian Mercer. A private interment followed at the Vienna Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home.

Elaine passed away Aug. 8,2010 at home in Vienna, Louisiana following a. 15 month battle with cancer. She was born March 12, 1948 in Asheville, North Carolina. She was a longtime member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Ruston. She was involved in several organizations including serving as a member of the Board of Directors for the Louisiana Methodist Children's Home, a past member of the Board of Directors for the Ruston-Lincoln Chamber of Commerce, president of PRIDE of Lincoln, a member of the Louisiana Realtors Association, past President of Ruston Symphony-Guild, charter member of the Junior Auxiliary of Ruston, member of the Vienna Planning and Zoning Commission, member of the Board of Waterworks District II, LSU Chi Omega Sorority, and Beta Sigma Phi. Elaine was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend. She had an extraordinary way of making every person she encountered feel special. All that met her were embraced by her endearing smile and gracious spirit. Her husband, Bob, and their three daughters, Melanie, Jennifer, and Clair, will miss her a great deal. Although deeply saddened by their loss, they are comforted to know that she is now in the Lord's arms.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Elizabeth Guy, and by her loving father-in-law, Harold Levy.

Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Bob Levy; daughters, Melanie Levy and Jennifer Levy, both of Steamboat Springs, Colorado; daughter, Clair Levy Knox, her husband Cory Knox, and grandson, Beaux Wallace Knox of Troutman, North Carolina. She is also survived by her brother, Robert Leland Guy and wife Margarita of New Orleans; sister, Carol Guy Louden and husband David of Birmingham, Alabama; mother-in-law, Billie H. Levy of Baton Rouge; brothers-in-law Byron Levy and wife Cathy of San Mateo, California; Mark Levy and wife Karen of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; 10 nieces and nephews; and many friends.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, August 10, 2010, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Ruston, Louisiana from 5 pm until 7pm

Memorials may be made to the Methodist Children's Home in Ruston, (318) 255-5020 or the charity of choice.

Pallbearers were

Winston McVea, Allen Herbert, Sam Dauzat, James Davison, Jay Melancon, and Andy Shealy.

Heartfelt appreciation is expressed for the efforts and care provided by the doctors and staff of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York; all of the personnel of the LSU Health Sciences Center, School of Medicine and Willis-Knighton Hospital in Shreveport, Louisiana; and a very special thank you to Agape Hospice Group.
