Peggy Hancock Adkins

Peggy Hancock Adkins' life was celebrated on Monday, September 14, 2009 with visitation beginning at 5:00 PM and a service following at 6:30 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel in Ruston, LA. Dr. Andrew Johnson and Dr. Chris Craig officiated and Wayne Bridges provided special music.

Peggy was born in Monroe, LA on September 1, 1927 and moved to heaven on September 12, 2009. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Reverend Jerry Adkins; a daughter, Cindy Murphy and husband George; three grandchildren, Andrew, Laura, and Melissa Murphy all of Ruston, LA; sisters, Frances Edwards of Ruston, LA and Mary Lou Ledger of Calhoun, LA; and many other family members and special friends.

Pallbearers were Buddy Bradley, Buddy Rogers, Jack Dalby, Ervin Ryland, James Smith, and Lou Barber.

Special gratitude is expressed to Dr. and Mrs. Andrew Johnson and the Happy Sojourners Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church, Ruston, and to the Arbor House/Terrace staff for their care of our precious one. Gratitude is also expressed to all the churches where Rev. Adkins served for their support and encouragement.
