Ben Allen Sharp

Ben Allen Sharp, 90, of KY HWY 11 North Sharpsburg, Kentucky passed away Saturday, September 11, 2010 at the Windsor Care Center in Mt. Sterling. He was born in Sharpsburg, Kentucky on February 27, 1920 the son of the late Tom and Elizabeth Wilson Sharp. He was a former, an employee of the US Soil Conservation Service, a veteran of the US Army Air Force having served in WW II, an elder at Sharpsburg Christian Church, a Kentucky Colonel, a board member of the Bath County Farm Bureau and Cattleman's Association. He was the widower of Betty Johnson Sharp.

He is survived by one son, Charles Thomas Sharp of Mt. Sterling; three daughters, Mary Siereveld of Edge-wood, KY, Susan Meehan of Sharpsburg, KY and Jo Ann Miller of Mt. Sterling, KY; ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services were at 1 PM, Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at the Taul Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Pat Bromagen and Harry B. Jones officiating and burial following in the Crown Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Clay Siereveld, Wade Miller, Ben Sharp, Joe Meehan, Nick Howard, Carl Edwards, and Eric Lane. Honorary pallbearers were the Men of Sharpsburg Christian Church, Susan Jones and Randy Toy. In lieu of flowers donations were suggested to the Sharpsburg Christian Church. Military rites were performed by American Legion Post #22.
