Wyoming Education Summary released

CopyWyoming Superintendent of Public Instruction Dr. Jim McBride announced Monday that the fourth annual Wyoming Education Summary will be available this week and will be inserted in newspapers across the state, including the Basin Republican Rustler. He encourages Wyoming residents to review the summary and educate themselves about essential facts and figures related to their districts.
The Wyoming Department of Education, under the direction of Dr. McBride, developed the publication to encourage dialogue in Wyoming about education.
"I continue to believe that the Wyoming Education Summary promotes conversations between parents, teachers and school boards," Dr. McBride said. "We want Wyoming citizens engaged
in discussions about our schools, and about the results they expect for our students.
"Ultimately, the students of Wyoming can and will benefit from these discussions," he said.
The statewide report card takes a look at various district-level categories of achievement and statistics such as graduation rates, expenditures, school environment statistics and assessment data.
While these indices have been readily available, this is the summarized compilation of the data and information.
The report and links to data will be available on the Wyoming Department of Education Web site at www.kl2.wy.us under New Information.
