Flu vaccine providers thanked

Burnet County Judge Donna Klaeger has issued a formal letter of thanks to the City of Burnet for partnering with the Texas Department of State Health Services on influenza vaccination clinics.

The free clinics on Jan. 22 the Burnet Community Center, and Jan. 27 at Lakeside Pavilion in Marble Falls administered 196 vaccines to 188 people regardless of income and made Burnet County one of the few in Central Texas that had two clinics offered by Texas Department of State Health Services. DSHS.

Burnet County Emergency Management Coordinator Jim Barho handled logistical efforts so that TDSHS and used specialized training to assist health care workers.

"The clinics were considered a great success by TDSHS, and now nearly 400 individuals who had not received the vaccination prior to January are protected due to the efforts of all who participated in and supported the H1N1 influenza vaccination clinics," said Judge Klaeger. "We could not have been successful in providing vaccines to our citizens without the patience, dedication, and hard work of these partners!
