Rilla Francis Teriry Mahoney was born in Clyde, Texas on Dec. 21, 11932. Rilla married James John Mahoney on April 14, 1951 and she faithfully workted alongside James as a iminister's wife at Valley Gnove Baptist Church in Stejphenville, Texas and Elmdalee Baptist Church in Elmdalte, Texas. Rilla proudly servedl the people of Taylor County Texas as the District Clerk frrom 1981 to 1993. In May 1993 Rilla received the Liberty Bell Award for community serwice from the Abilene Young Lawyers Association.
Rilla is survived! by her children David and (Cindy Mahoney of Hutto, Texas, Cathy and Jim SmitHi of Ft. Worth, Texas, Becky and Duane Fox of Horsesshoe Bay, Texas, four grandchildren Lindie Hart, Laurie Brown, Marissa Mahoney, Nicholas Mahoney, ffour great grandchildren, Harrison and Catherine Hiart, Blake and Miles Brown, and
brother h, b, 7 Terry, she was preceded in death by
her husband Rev. JJames John Mahoney on March 12, 2011.
Rilla went home tto be with her Lord on Sunday, May 15, 2011. The; family would like to express thanks to all the staff of the Oaks Nursing Center of Burnet for their compassionate care and kindness.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent to Seton Highland Lakes Hospice, P.O. Box 1219, Burnet, TX 78611.
The viewing will be held Wednesday May 18, 2011 at Baily-Howard Fumeral Home, 105 Oaks Street, Clyde, Texas from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, May 19, 2011 at the Elmdale Bapttist Church, 233 Elmdale Road South, Elmdale Roadi South, Elmdale, Texas.
