HHaven elects 3 newcomers

Incumbent Highland Haven Alderman John Renfro will not return to the Highland Haven City Council, according to unofficial election results released Saturday.

Challengers Gail Che-nowith, Lonnie Ball and Jackie Garrow will join existing members Ange-lo Anzivino and Jim Hol-gate on the five-member council.

"I appreciate that the voters of Highland Haven have placed their trust in me, and I look forward to working for them," said Garrow.

Chenowith amassed 115 votes (31.08 percent), Ball took 102 votes (27.57 percent) and Garrow took 89 votes (24.05 percent).

"I would like thank the citizens of Highland Haven for voting for me, and offer my congratulations to Gail and Jackie, and my thanks to John for his service," said Ball. "I am looking forward to serving the community and will do so to the best of my ability."

Renfro tallied 64 votes (17.30 percent).
