Crusaders' Homecoming Tailgate

This fall 2009, thousands of teams from around the country will be participating in the DIG PINK National Breast Cancer Awareness Rally. High Schools and College teams will be promoting Breast health education in the community as well as raising funds to help eradicate Breast Cancer.

On October 6, the Bridgewater-Emery Huskies will take on the Canistota Hawks in the Bridgewater auditorium. Along with a volleyball game, the Huskies will be making the communities aware of a much larger battle: Breast Cancer.

Dig Pink attendees will watch the girls compete on the court while contributing to the breast health awareness by making a statement and wearing PINK in the stands.

During this event we would like to recognize any Breast Cancer survivors before the Varsity Match. You will get in free to the Match.

We need your help and you can make a difference! A silent auction is planned, with donations of pink items wanted. Any donation is welcome! Checks should be made payable to: The Side-Out Foundation.

The players, coaches and school administrators sincerely thank you for your donation consideration. We hope to see you wearing pink at our Dig Pink event on October 6 in Bridgewater for a match against Canistota!

Side-Out Foundation

The Side-Out Foundation, a national 501(c)(3) located in the Washington DC Metropolitan Area. They have raised thousands of thousands of dollars for Breast Cancer research nationally through volleyball tournaments, clinics, and rallies. Funds are currently devoted to targeted therapies and molecular profiling which is where there is a hot bed of research activity. Their name underscores the purpose of the organization - "Side-Out" in volleyball occurs when one team wins a point while its opponent is serving, thereby regaining serve or control of play. Likewise in the war against Breast Cancer, the Side-Out Foundation will support health care professionals in their pursuit of practical solutions for women and men with this dreaded disease thus enabling those affected to regain control of their lives and living them to the fullest.

The Canistota FCCLA Chapter will be serving hotdogs, chips, bars, and lemonade before the Canistota-Bridgewater Homecoming football game between the Crusaders and the Hanson Beavers on September 18.

Food will be served from 6:00-7:00 at the football field. There will be a free will donation with the proceeds going to the Canistota FCCLA. Hotdogs and buns will be furnished and prepared by the National Guard. All are welcome.
