Cloverbuds is a 4-H sanctioned program for youth 5-7 years old. Official 4-Hers are 8 - 18.

However, many times younger siblings of 4-Her's feel left out of all the activities simply because they haven't reached eight years of age by January 1, the official starting age for 4-H.

They attend meetings, participate in community service activities with their families, and can even recite the pledge - in short they do everything a 4-H member does, except exhibit at Achievement Days.

Cloverbuds can enter static exhibits (visual arts, home environment, crops, etc.) as well as enter small animal entries (rabbit, cat, dog & poultry only). This gives them the same sense of accomplishment as the older 4-Hers get, just a year or two sooner. Each Cloverbud receives a fun colored ribbon for their project, although they are not judged.

Having an older family member in 4-H is not a requirement. If your son, daughter or someone you know is interested in all the benefits, activities and projects involved with 4-H please contact the Extension Office at 425-2242.
