On Saturday, September 12, the Canistota-Bridgewater-Emery Destroyers team went to an Augustana Football game at their new 11 million dollar stadium. The 49-0 Augie victory was great but the locals really loved playing on the field after the game and meeting and taking pictures with several players.

On Sunday, September 13 the C-B-E Destroyers got back on the winning track defeating a Marion-Parker (Bones Elevator) team 19-12.

C-B-E struck first taking our opening possession in for a 6-0 lead. The locals completed two nice pass plays and a fourth and inches on the drive, capped by a one yard plunge from Jerad Nielsen (no conversion).

With 1:37 to go in the half Bones Elevator scores to tie the score at six at halftime. Bones later had a first goal on our own seven but the Destroyers denied it at 1:42 to go in the third quarter. The Destroyers finally had the ball in the second half and converted as Nielsen darted 67 yards behind some great blocking for a 13-6 lead with five seconds left in the quarter. Drew Seubert added the conversion.

With 1:56 to go in the game Seubert capped a long drive with a five yard scamper (no conversion) for a 19-6 lead. All this was made possible by a great play from Shay Jolley. It was fourth and really long. Jolley followed his blockers for a long run and then just as he was getting tackled he lateraled to Nielsen who got the first down! Bones did run the ensuing kick off back to get the game exciting again, but the locals held on to go to 3-1. Jerrott Weber and Cade Schmidt led a strong defense with interceptions.

Next up is a big game with Salem/Montrose, who is undefeated, Sunday, September 20 at 6:30 in Sioux Falls.
