EWU professor collapses in class, passes away two days later

Eastern Washington University adjunct professor Robyn Strayer died last Friday, May 20, following a severe aneurysm suffered on Wednesday May 18. According to university police, Strayer collapsed during class in Martin Hall and was taken to a local hospital.

According to an email to the campus

community from university president Dr. Rodolfo Arevalo, Strayer served as the assessment coordinator in the Department of Education and was an adjunct instructor in CEDP since 2006.

"I ask you to keep Robyn's colleagues in CALE (College of Arts, Letters and Education) and CSBSS (College of Social and

Behavioral Science and Social Work) in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time," Arevalo said in the email.

A memorial service in celebration of Strayer was held Tuesday, May 24 at the Heritage Center (one-room schoolhouse) and in the adjacent Reid garden on campus.
