Cheney High School to sponsor pair of cancer awareness weeks

Cheney High School will be conducting two Cancer Awareness weeks. The first will be Sept. 27-Oct.l in conjunction with football, and the second will be Oct. 11-16 with the volleyball team.

Items that can be purchased, with all proceeds going to the American Cancer Society, are hope rings ($1), bracelets ($2), small car magnets ($2) and large car magnets ($3). The rings, bracelets and car magnets come in 18 colors that represent specific types of cancers, such as pink for breast cancer, dark blue for colon cancer, gold for childhood cancer and lavender for all cancers.

The phrases: "Say it," "Fight it," and "Cure it," may be printed on the bracelets while rings feature the word "Hop'e" with all capital letters and car magnets able to carry specific cancers such as "Melanoma Awareness."

Items are available for purchase at the high school and at specific events. For more information contact 559-4301.
