Mylet Marquardt, 96

Mylet Marquardt died September 8, 2010 in the Gunderson Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, Wisconsin.

Mylet Cordilla Knutson was born September 4, 1914, in rural Preston to Knute and Clara (Moger) Knutson. She v^as the eldest of six girls. She attended Clear Grit Country School. Mylet married Oscar Marquardt at the Court House in Preston on July 1, 1940. Oscar died in 1996. She had lived in rural Preston, Rochester - where she worked at the State Hospital, Winona - she worked at the Q.P. Restrauant, in Lanesboro they farmed for 10 years and she also worked for the Lanesboro Produce, and at the Preston Care Center as a nurses aid for 17 years. She lived in Lanesboro from 1961 until 2006 when she entered the Harmony Nursing Home. Mylet was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She enjoyed reading, walking, her flowers, watching her wren bird houses, mowing grass, babysitting her grandchildren and taking them to the city park. She also enjoyed tent vacationing at the age of 85, and enjoyed a six Island cruise in 1997.

Survivors include her daughter, Marlene (Bob) Connelly, of Lanesboro; 4 grandchildren, Tricia (Troy) Rasmussen of Fountain; Crystal (Charles) Bain of Stewartville; Marshall Connelly of Caledonia; and Kadi Connelly of Burnsville; 6 great grandchildren; two brothers Darrell (Doris) Knutson of Rochester; Kermit (Joyce) Knutson of Spring Valley; two sisters, Charlotte Lilly of Minnetonka, and Maryann (Harvey) Knapp of Mason City, Iowa, 46 nieces and nephews.

Mylet was preceded in death by her parents, 6 brothers and 3 sisters.

Memorials preferred to Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lanesboro.

The Celebration of Life for Mylet Marquardt, 96, of Lanesboro was Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lanesboro, with Rev. Kerry Eversole officiating. Burial was in the Lanesboro Cemetery.
