During fair manager John Steffanic's discussion about the fair, Judy Madden asked about the fair break-in.

She thought there had been an attempt on the racing ticket trailer because she noticed pry marks on the trailer door Monday afternoon when she entered the trailer.

The break-in and theft at the fair offices was discovered Tuesday morning when staff reported to work.

Steffanic said $1,700 was taken from the cash drawer in the office, and there were break-ins at the Elks booths.

The alleged culprits are already in custody.

Thomas Gilliam was arrested on charges of burglary and possessing an illegal weapon.

Eric Oxley was arrested on charges of burglary and conspiracy.

Robert Venuti was arrested on charges of burglary and conspiracy, along with an allegation of violating probation.

Steffanic said one of the suspects was a former worker at the fair. Workforce Alliance placed him at the fairgrounds as an unpaid intern before sending him to training and placing him in a paid position .at the fairgrounds.
