Paving scheduled for Bucks Lake Road

Pavement maintenance work has been scheduled for Bucks Lake Road (County Road 411) between Plumas District Hospital and the driveway into the old Spanish Creek Aggregates plant (now a private road) about 1 mile to the west.

Preparations begin Monday, Sept. 13, and actual construction will begin Wednesday, Sept. 15.

The work by Knife River Construction will include grinding the existing pavement down 3 inches in distressed areas, patching those areas with asphalt, and placing a 2-inch hot mix asphalt overlay over the entire road width.

After paving, gravel shoulders will installed along new pavement edges and the new pavement will be striped with centerline and edge stripes.

The schedule for this work is:

Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 13 - 14, move-in equipment and materials;

Wednesday, Sept. 15, grind and backfill;

Thursday and Friday, Sept. 16 -17, asphalt overlay placement; and

Monday, Sept. 20, gravel shoulder.

The date for striping will be during the week of Sept. 20 - 24, the actual dates will be announced.

Construction work will close one lane to traffic from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Motorists will be subject to the contractor's traffic control, which includes signs and flaggers at both ends of construction and a pilot car.
