The Peninsula Fire Protection District commissioners held a brief meeting Dec. 16.

During the meeting, two items of housekeeping were accomplished; certificates of appointments were issued in lieu of election for board members Susan Mueller, Russell Greenlaw and Dennis Mason.

Oaths were administered; Mueller will serve a two-year term effective December 2009 through December 2011.

Commissioners Greenlaw and Mason will hold office from December 2009 through December 2013.

In the middle of their terms, Robert Phillip and Edwin Butler round out the board.

The commissioners also held an election for 2010 offices. Phillips was elected chairman. Greenlaw will serve as vice chairman, while Mason serves as secretary. This board does not fill the position of treasurer.

In the chief's activity report for November, 15 calls for service were reported. They included seven medical calls and eight fire calls, three of which were in the Hamilton Branch Fire Protection District. The district also responded to a fire call in Clear Creek.

PFPD Secretary Holly Coons said the commissioners offered a number of compliments for "no injuries and a great job" while putting out the Nov. 20 structure fire at 814 Peninsula Dr.
