Beebe Medical Center has announced that registration is under way for the 2010 Asthma Camp, to take place Monday through Friday, July 11-15, at St. Jude The Apostle Church north of Five Points, Lewes.

This weeklong camp is specifically designed to accommodate children between the ages of 7 and 11 who suffer from asthma. Beebe Medical Center sponsors the annual event together with the American Lung Association.

Campers can participate in a variety of typical activities such as kayaking, hiking, seining, swimming and educational games. They take part in art projects, go on field trips, and have lessons on diet, exercise, and disease management under the instruction of on-site physicians.

The cost for the charitable camp, which raises scholarshi funds, is $50 for the week and includes all education, activities and field trips, as well as lunch and two snacks daily.

Drop-off time is 730 a.m. each day and pick-up time is 5 p.m. For more information or to sign up a child, contact camp organizer Angela Lindale, RRT, at 302-645-3300, Ext. 5764, or email alin-dale@bbmc.org.
