Sussex developments could face court action

At its May 17 meeting, Sussex County Council voted 5-0 to proceed with possible legal action against four developers that have not provided bonds or letters of credit. Council gave attorney David Rutt permission to write one more letter to each of the four developers warning of possible court action. Rutt said if the requests were ignored, the developers would be taken to the Court of Chancery. The developments in violation are Sandy Cove townhouse community and The Reserves Phase II near Ocean View, Black Creek Cove near Georgetown and Redden-wood near Milton. Letters of credit or bonds are required to

assure infrastructure work and amenities are completed.
