One lucky new homeowner received a financial boost recently as part of two Sussex County Association of Realtors programs designed to strengthen real estate sales in Delaware's southernmost county.

Part of grants awarded to SCAOR by the National Association of Realtors, one program helps remove some of the large number of foreclosed properties from the market, while the other is aimed toward assisting employers with their workers' housing needs.

To qualify for the programs, a home buyer has to adhere to cer-tain guidelines set forth by

SCAOR

These include the presence of financial counseling and using a Realtor; they must have already gone to settlement and the financial counseling agency must submit a request for reimbursement in writing.

Several costs can be refunded to the homeowner after settlement through these programs, including financial counseling fees, title search fees and mortgage application fees, among others.
