A scuffle that broke out at Lingo's Market on First Street in Re-hoboth Beach resulted in the arrest of a Lewes man.

Archie Lingo, 66, was arrested for second-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangering, unlawful imprisonment and disorderly conduct, Rehoboth police Chief Keith Banks said.

The incident occurred at about 2:20 p.m., Sunday, Sept 6, at Lingo's Market. Banks said Lingo, who owns the store, became disorderly with an air-conditioning repairman and began cursing at him. While the repairman was working on an electrical problem, Lingo sprayed him with a garden hose, causing the repairman to be shocked.

A fight between the two men then broke out. The repairman hit Lingo, causing injuries to Lingo's mouth, Banks said. Lingo was taken to the hospital and upon being released, he was taken by police to Justice of the Peace Court 3 for arraignment. Lingo was remanded to Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $9,000 bail, pending an appearance in the Court of Common Pleas Thursday, Sept. 10. No charges were filed against the repairman.
